However, I have to say the solar panels are really a bad afterthought. Come on, did he stick these on just because it is fashionable? It looks that way.

that is a stupid idea, people have so many junk in there car it will fly every inside de car, break window, make a mess in you car. I have tools in the trunk, your money in the cup holder, glasses, pens, kleenex box on the back seat window etc.

Not very smart idea. Even if you think you have remove all the hazardus material you will forget something under the seat and BANG you will return with a broken window.

This won’t save any space because you have to leave room for the mechanism to fold down (loading and unloading). Therefore, you can’t really put three back-to-back. What could you use the extra space for, when the mechanism is in the up position, when someone may decide to unload their car at any moment?

Furthermore, the car would have to be specifically designed for this system. Suspensions are not designed to support a car hanging vertically from the wheels. Fluid compartments are not airtight and will inevitably leak all over the place.
