I think it’d be most useful, as well as awesome in the automotive industry. It could be used to display temperature, speed, RPMs, road conditions, et cetera directly on the windshield, thus allowing for a more ergonomic design of car interiors.

As a notebook display, I struggle to see the value. On the other hand, can we embed this in windows, windshields, glasses etc? How about one of these on the bathroom mirror to show hot water levels, weather, time, road conditions etc.
This type of technology will be able to give us information without sacrificing space.
I like the idea of having a rear facing camera in your car that can automatically scale up from a rear view mirror to a 19” diag screen.
40 transparency is pretty good for an early version.

that’s entirely doable... if you want to pay several thousand dollars for each cubic foot of framed screen. I do mean several by the way. If you think you’ll get this screen for 2k, I’m pretty sure it won’t happen. Then of course you need the computer to go with it to make it useable... so add a few hundred more.
But man, you could show it off to ALL of your friends for like a decade.
